Data transfers within the EU

The free exchange of personal data between member states of the European Union is an integral part of the principles laid out in the European Charter of Human Rights; to be more precise – it arises from the four fundamental freedoms – the free movement of people, goods, services and capital. The GDPR also excludes the restriction or prohibition of the free movement of personal data within the European Union.
